"The market—which is asymmetrically controlled and manipulated by the capitalist class—becomes a lens through which individuals interact with the world. Over time, as the lens becomes more deeply embedded, individual consciousness is colonized, assimilated, and reshaped to fit market-human molds. The market inserts itself between the individual and the real world, a middleman of sorts that mediates interactions, relations, values, and conceptions in real time. This mediation intensifies until the processing of the real world through the senses is completely diverted and reconstructed in relation to the market. Hence, the market operates as an abstract disciplinary mechanism, producing a confabulated consistency which covers over anomalies and contradictions. The flow of human, social, and historical temporality is homogenized into a ‘reality’ that is infinitely plastic and capable of reconstructing itself at any moment. Neoliberal structures thus both outwardly shape physical space, and simultaneously inwardly reconstruct human assemblages into market-human commodities, a hybrid human form which understands the world through capitalist dreamwork, intrinsically striving to be as mobile, as fluid, and as plastic as capital itself."
